The Art of Feeling Fulfilled by Being More You - For Yourself, Your Family and Your Well-Being

As a modern mom, you’re probably no stranger to juggling endless responsibilities—work, family, home, self-care (if there’s time).
To keep it all together, I’ve always found comfort in writing to-do lists. They help me quiet the mental noise and calm the worry that I might forget something important. And let’s be honest, few things feel as satisfying as crossing off those little checkboxes.

But here’s the catch: I tend to overfill my lists. I pack them with so many tasks that even on my most productive days, I can’t get through them all. Even after getting so much done, I often end the day feeling unsatisfied and scattered because I didn’t really accomplish what matters most—to me, to my family, to my well-being.

It’s not just about work. It’s also personal. Sometimes it looks like skipping my lunch break to power through another task. Other times, it’s jumping straight into laundry the minute I walk through the door instead of resting or reading a book with my son.

Yesterday, life hit the brakes for me because I got sick. I had to throw my entire to-do list out the window. And as the universe would have it, I came across a timely reminder in a newsletter that landed in my inbox.

It said something that really stuck:
Feeling accomplished isn’t about how many things we check off—it’s about whether we gave time to what truly matters.

It’s about replacing busy with being present and prioritizing what makes our life meaningful.

Here’s a simple, but life-changing question to start your day with:

What three things would make today feel meaningful, professional, and personally?

Write them down. Just three. That’s your compass.

Some examples:

  • Breakfast with your loved ones to start the day joyfully

  • Preparing for a client meeting with full focus and heart

  • Taking a proper walk during your lunch break to recharge

Sure, you’ll likely do dozens of other things throughout the day. But by putting these meaningful moments at the center, you’ll end the day feeling less scattered and more fulfilled.

Introduce a Gentle End-of-Day Check-In

One thing I love to do at night: I pause to reflect. Not just on what I did, but how I showed up.

Have you shown up open-minded at work today? Have you been kind to yourself by resting when you needed to? Have you been fully present with your child before bedtime? That matters just as much as the work you got done.

It’s a very helpful tool to check in and stay aligned with who you want to be and the life you want to lead. It’s in the day-to-day that we build our lives and what we’ll be remembered for. It’s one of my favorite little rituals to stay aligned with who I truly am.

Try it for yourself and let me know how it works for you. I always love hearing from you and genuinely welcome your stories and reflections!

With love, Isabel
